RIDING ABILITY

With over 25 years' experience in teaching riders of all abilities, we have developed our own definition of riding levels to ensure you are matched with an appropriate horse and lesson/instructor.

 

These definitions will perhaps vary from what you are used to, so please take the time to assess your standard of riding and feel free to call us on 01236 733424 if you need clarification or help deciding which level you fall into or whether a lesson is suitable for you.

Complete Beginner:  No riding or up to 10 lessons, ridden in the last 6 months.

Beginner:  Can do rising and sitting trot, rides regularly and has been off lead rein for at least 6 months.

Novice:  Can walk, trot and canter confidently on a variety of horses, rides weekly.

Intermediate:  As Novice but on more advanced horses and can ride over small jumps, knowledge of BD, BE and BS.
